Summer Splash 2010 - A Great Success in Newry and Mourne
All nine projects funded by Newry and Mourne’s Community Safety Partnership’s Summer Splash Grant have now been successfully completed. Summer Splash provides funding for diversionary activities for young people during the summer months, and help to reduce levels of anti social behaviour during this time of year.
Various activities were held through out the district including peer leadership courses, graffiti art, football tournaments and day trips. Each of the projects has provided the youth of the district with the opportunity to partake in a range of programmes and initiatives.
Groups who received funding this year:
- Martins Lane Community Association and Thomas Davis GAC
- Barcroft Community Association
- Mourne Hurlers
- Crossmaglen Youth Band
- Greater Linenhall Area Community Association
- Three Ways Community Association
- Glassdrumman Youth
- PSNI, Newry Neighbourhood Policing Team
- Carnagat Community Association
