Building Control Receive Customer Service Excellence Award

The Newry and Mourne Building Control Department proudly announces that they have been awarded the prestigious Customer Service Excellence Award for the first time. They are the only Building Control Department in Northern Ireland to have achieved this award and indeed only one of three organisations across Northern Ireland to do so. Belfast Castle was the venue for the recent reception when Mr Nigel Dodds, MLA presented the Award to staff. What is Customer Service Excellence?

Customer Service Excellence (previously known as Charter Mark) is streamlined to focus on the delivery of public services to our customers and is both a standard of customer service and a quality improvement tool. It is unique among quality schemes because it concentrates on the service actually provided to the customer and requires us to have an in-depth understanding of the characteristics of our current and potential customer groups.

As a Department we constantly strive to provide a high quality service and our customer satisfaction levels are high. Staff take great pride in delivering such services and see the Customer Service Excellence Award as a recognition of their hard work.

The Department’s hard work to maintain a customer service at the highest level won’t stop with the achievement of the Award. The maintenance of the standard of service will be a continuous effort, which will be monitored by the Customer Service Excellence assessors on an annual basis.
