I am delighted as Mayor of Newry & Mourne District Council to have this opportunity to wish you all peace and goodwill over the Festive Season. Christmas is a wonderful time as it presents the opportunity to celebrate and reflect with our families, friends, neighbours and our community the whole message of joy and goodwill.

Christmas is a time to remember everyone especially those who are spending Christmas alone or are feeling hardship at present, and I would like to thank all the charities and those who work relentlessly to improve peoples lives for the better.

I take great pride in thanking you all for the kindness I have experienced in my role to date as Mayor. I appreciate all the support you have shown me over the last six months and I look forward to your continued support over the next period. I would also like to pay tribute to my Deputy Mayor Councillor Charlie Casey.

Finally, I would like to wish each and every one of you a Happy, Peaceful and Safe Christmas and a Prosperous and Healthy New Year.
