New Recycling Facilities opened at Kilkeel
Newry and Mourne District Council

25th January 2010

Newry and Mourne District Council are pleased to announce the re-opening of the Recycling Facilities at Costcutters, Lisnacree, Kilkeel. The site has already demonstrated a high volume of recycling, since it’s opening. At the site, it is possible to recycle 3 colours of glass and food and drink cans.

The Mayor, Cllr John Feehan said, “Newry and Mourne District Council are delighted to offer these facilities to the local community. The Council wants to take this opportunity to thank the Burns Family for their cooperation in the promotion of recycling. The Council are currently reporting a recycling rate of 33% and we hope that the re-installation of this site, along with the support of local residents, will help us to achieve even higher targets in 2010.”
